Managing Partner
Joshua Shaver is a Managing Partner and a Wealth Manager at Diamond State Financial Group (DSFG). Since joining DSFG in 2007, Josh has worked primarily with clients nearing retirement and business owners, helping them secure their financial futures. As a Managing Partner, he trains and mentors financial professionals in the early stages of their careers and is responsible for the Firm’s recruiting, retention, and development of new financial professionals.
Education
Joshua graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He holds his Series 7, Series 66, and Series 24 registrations and his Life, Health, and Ethics Insurance licenses. Josh has also earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) and Certified Business Exit Consultant (CBEC®) designations. Josh is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC.
At the University of Delaware, Josh was involved with the Financial Managers Association and was part of its Honor Society. He still is significantly involved with the University, serving on two advisory boards, and frequently speaking to classes about the Financial Services industry.
Community
Josh is an active member of his community in numerous non-profit roles. Most currently, he has volunteered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of DE, proudly winning Northern Delaware’s Man of the Year Award in 2020 and continuing to serve on the Leadership Committee. He has previously volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, MS Society’s Bike to the Bay and the Nemours Fund for Children’s Health at Nemours Hospital for Children.
Personal
native Delawarean, Josh resides in Newark with his wife Jessica, sons Henry and Bennett, American Bulldog Samson, and Jack Russell Ellie. His hobbies include time with his wife and boys, traveling whenever possible, Philadelphia sports, wine and craft beer, time at the beach on the pontoon boat and enjoying good food with friends.
